About Luanne Webster Lotus Day Spa Owner
Aloha and E Komo Mai!
My name is Luanne Webster and I am the owner and operator of Lotus Day Spa, which I opened in 2006.
Born and raised in Hawaii, I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 1985, and a Licensed Esthetician since 2000.
I was an amateur athlete in my 30s and participated in local races including biathlons, triathlons, half marathons, and the 100 mile Century Bike ride. I had an accident on my bike on the way down to the Tinman Triathlon but did the race anyway. Afterwards, my body began to stiffen up, and someone offered to give me a massage. The massage helped me recover so much quicker and I was out on my bike the very next day! It was like a light bulb went off and I thought, ” I can do that”, and so I went to the Honolulu School of Massage and got my license to practice massage. I have been doing it ever since!
In 2000 the very first Esthetician only program was offered in Hawaii. Prior to that, the only way you could get your license was to sign up for a Cosmetology program where you had only 2 weeks of esthetics training. I was lucky enough to get into the very first Esthetician program and graduated with honors. Unfortunately, when I went to class I noticed I had the worst skin in the room. How embarrassing! My skin was damaged and I had hyperpigmentation from all those years of being out in the sun. In addition, I was suffering from horrible adult cystic acne. It couldn’t have been any more humbling, but I made it my mission to reverse the sun damage and clear up my acne. I am now approaching my 61st birthday and I can honestly say my skin looks better now than it did 25 years ago. So, my philosophy is it’s never too late to reduce the signs of aging and it’s never too early to take preventative measures to ensure your skin remains healthy and youthful!
